The East Orange Unified Marching Band (EOUMB)
prepares to move from Cicely Tyson High School to East Orange
Campus High School, where they will be located next year. In
August, the Band will reorganize with new members and attempt to
recreate the "East Orange Marching 100's Band"
from former glory years. Meanwhile, there is a great deal of work
required before the move can be made.
Joshua Reserve steam cleans all
the band mouthpieces to sterilize them for use by next year's
Adam works on inventory. Every
piece of equipment and every part of every uniform needs to be
numbered and labeled.
Rosenda takes count of all the
clarinets and woodwinds and reed supplies.
Alumna Bria Douglas, home for the
summer from Prairie View A&M University in Texas, helps with
the inventory and will probably go right on helping as the band
reorganizes during summer camp right up to the day she has to go
back to her "other" band.
